The Not-for-Profit Source For Energy Freedom: Myths, Facts, & Solutions |

|
MYTH: Our problem is consumption of foreign oil; not all oil. FACT: Oil is a global commodity. It is useful to think of the analogy of a bathtub: you can’t take water just out of one side. If we do not buy oil from country X (say, Venezuela) and we purchase more oil from country Y (say, Canada), then whoever was buying that oil from Y (Canada) will now buy it from X (Venezuela). The price of oil is set in a global marketplace. Foreign oil, as a dependency, is a fallacy.
